In a forest dark and deep,
Where the trees sway and weep,
Lived a fox so sly and bold,
With a heart of stone and gold.
In a field of green and bright,
Lived a mouse so small and light,
With eyes like beads and fur so soft,
And a heart so brave and aloft.
In a hut nearby the woods,
Lived a girl with golden locks and hoods,
With a heart that’s kind and full of love,
And a spirit that soars above.
One day the girl went for a stroll,
Into the woods all alone,
And there she met the cunning fox,
Whose eyes sparkled like a gem in a box.
The fox grinned and approached the girl,
With a wicked plan to give her a whirl,
But the brave mouse saw his intent,
And charged at him with all his might and bent.
The fox was taken back, but not for long,
For he saw his chance and sang a song,
Luring the little girl into his trap,
With promises of treasures and gifts that flap.
But the mouse was not done, oh no,
For he knew the fox’s plan was low,
He ran towards the girl, with all his might,
And bit the fox’s tail with all his bite.
The fox howled and yelped in pain,
As the girl ran and escaped the chain,
And the mouse, though small and meek,
Had saved the girl from the fox’s cheek.
From that day on, the girl and mouse,
Were friends for life, in heart and house,
And the fox, though smart and slick,
Knew that the girl and mouse was a trick.
And so in the forest, dark and deep,
The fox still lurks and tries to reap,
But the little girl, her heart so pure,
Will always find a way to cure.
